Getting There

When booking your flights to and from Los Angeles, California for the MEGACRUISE, we suggest that you consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the Los Angeles area. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection and transfer problems that could occur. However, if you need to arrive the day of the MEGACRUISEplease arrive no later than 11 am on Sunday, October 13th. We also recommend that you schedule your departure for no earlier than 1 pm on Friday, October 18th, in the event there is a delay in debarkation. If you plan to fly into or out of Long Beach, Orange County or Burbank please allow additional travel time in the event of traffic.

Ground Transportation (click to open)

The Port of Los Angeles World Cruise Center in San Pedro, California is approximately 20.1 miles south of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX),  19.1 miles from the Long Beach Airport, (LGB), via the 405 and 110 Freeways and is located 6 miles west of Downtown Long Beach.

Travel times may vary widely depending on traffic conditions. Please allow plenty of time for travel from the airports.

Airport Transfer
Long Beach International Airport (LGB) is the closest area airport to The Port of Los Angeles. Consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the Los Angeles area. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection and transfer problems that could occur. Whether arriving to Long Beach or Los Angeles, please plan accordingly and allow additional time for traffic in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area.

Taxi
Taxis are readily available at the airports as well as the pier. The current fare between LAX and World Cruise Center is currently a flat rate of $45.  For other destinations, the cab fare is $2.85 upon entering the taxi and $2.70 per mile thereafter.

Please note that if you have more than 3 large pieces of luggage or a party of 4 or more guests, a taxi may not be able to accommodate your party. We would suggest utilizing alternate transportation.

Bus
Many area hotels provide bus/shuttle transportation between airports and the hotel for pre-booked reservations. You should contact your hotel for available options and details. Here are two airport shuttle options, servicing the greater Long Beach/Los Angeles area:

Car Rental
There are a number of car rental companies nearby for car rental. Use a reputable discount site or contact the Car Rental Company directly to make arrangements.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
19 miles from the Port of Los Angeles. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes, however, traffic in Los Angeles can vary greatly.
 
Long Beach International Airport (LGB)
15 miles from the Port of Los Angeles. Travel time is approximately 20 minutes, however, traffic in Los Angeles can vary greatly.We recommend that when booking your flights you consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the Los Angeles area. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection and transfer problems that could occur.If you are arriving on the same day your cruise departs, please schedule your arrival and departure flights as follows:

  • Arrive no later than 11:00 am. Depart no earlier than 1:00 pm.

Parking

The Port of Los Angeles World Cruise Center Parking
Secured overnight parking (2,560 spaces) through Parking Concepts Inc. Parking free for the first hour and $2/hour thereafter ($18 maximum/day). Courtesy passenger shuttles from the terminal to a parking lot are available.

Hours and Access
The rates for parking at the port are $18 per day (rates subject to change).

Parking Lots 1 & 2:

  • Open Daily, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Rate: First (1) hour is free
  • $2.00 each additional hour
  • Daily Maximum Standard Vehicle: $18.00
  • Daily Maximum Oversized Vehicle: $32.00
  • Each Add’l 24-hr period or portion of: $18.00
  • No Reservations Required
  • Cash, Travelers Checks and Credit Cards Accepted

  • Open 24 Hours, 7 Days A Week
